MORE ABOUT: Injury Rehabilitation
The goal of rehabilitation is to help you become as independent as possible so that you can participate in everyday activities such as work, school, recreational sports and household tasks.
At the ATP Clinic, we are determined to assist you in reaching your physical health goals, whether that is getting back to your sport or just being able to cook pain-free. An active rehabilitation program is an essential part of everyone’s treatment plan as it plays an important role in managing all musculoskeletal conditions.
How Injury Rehabilitation Works:
An active rehabilitation program is vital to injury recovery.
We will work together to formulate a program that will optimize function, power, mobility and strength. At the ATP Clinic, we understand that every individual and injury is unique which allows us to create a program that is specific to you. Our goal is to use evidence-based practice when creating a specific exercise program tailored to your needs.
In the initial stages of treatment, gentle exercises will be given to help tissues heal. Afterwards, the intensity of each exercise will be increased based on functional ability.
Once you have reached your previous level of function (or higher), we will educate you on how to take control of your lifestyle and continue your journey to health while avoiding re-injury.
A rehabilitation program works simultaneously with other services and consists of therapeutic exercises that are based on your goals. At the ATP Clinic, we focus on the biomechanics of your movement and guide you through different exercises that are effective without putting excessive strain on your joints and muscles.
The benefits of exercise rehabilitation are:
- faster recovery time
- reduced pain
- restoring muscle strength
- increased flexibility
- injury prevention
- improved balance
