MORE ABOUT: Active Release Technique (ART)

If you are interested in a quick recovery and you don’t mind bearing through aggressive hands-on treatment, ART is the treatment for you.

Active Release Technique (ART) Ⓡ is a specialized system designed for the management of injuries that involve the soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia) of our body. Specifically, ART is used to target the scarring that occurs in the soft tissues as a result of an acute injury (tearing) or repetitive strain (work or activity-related)

The fact is that ALL musculoskeletal injuries have a soft-tissue impairment to some degree.

Why? Whether it is a direct muscle injury or prolonged muscle spasm due to joint, nerve or ligament pain, the result is usually increased soft-tissue tension, sensitivity/pain and dysfunction.

Our body naturally responds to muscle injury or overuse by laying down collagen (connective tissue) that builds up and thickens (scars) over time. This scarring creates the feeling of tension and eventually results in sensitivity, pain and altered recruitment of the muscle.

While is certainly considered an aggressive form of body-work, Active Release Technique (ART) is the gold standard for mobilizing and desensitizing the affected soft tissues, reducing pain, and quickly improving range of motion and muscle function.
